hey! this isnt the type of news post i'd normally make but since my last one about going on a break i thought i'd give a little update.
not to make this a sob story, but ive been going through a pretty rough depressive episode lately. if you weren't already aware, i have PTSD and bipolar disorder, and it really drains my at times. sometimes for months on end. you've probably been noticing that my art posts are slower than ever and this is partially the reason. trying to juggle art with mental health struggles and a full-time job is a hassle and ultimately, art is just a hobby, so its not my top priority. plus, i just havent been very happy with my art lately, so im trying to take it slow and really focus on making my art the best it can be. especially with the secret santa event! i dont want to disappoint the person i was assigned.
all that said, im fine, though i might try to step back from the internet a little bit more often. i'll still be online but probably rolling back just how online i am. but yeah, im doing okay, and really focusing hard on myself and just doing things that make me feel happy and fulfilled. i actually got a new hole in my face (a second labret, so now i have snake bites!! woohoo!) and im spending more time with family, working on my executive dysfunction.. its a struggle when you can barely even get yourself out of bed in the morning, but im doing better than i was before, and i want to keep it up.
on top of my ongoing webcomic project, Roadkill, ive been planning a second webcomic with some of the characters that pop up in my art sometimes. if you're wondering why you barely see them anymore its because im reworking them slightly and i wanna get the first chapter of the comic written before i make any big story-inspired art of them. that probably wont be started until chapter 3 of Roadkill gets wrapped up, speaking of which, im not sure when i'm gonna start working on the next set of pages, but im aiming for them to release sometime after new year's. i also have some smaller projects in the back of my mind with even more underused characters of mine but those will wait since the big ones are taking up most of my attention.
thats a lot of yapping (especially at 2 AM like wow... go to sleep) but i think thats everything that needs to be said for now!! maybe i'll make more longer news posts like these. idk. not sure if you guys are gonna actually read all of this. seeya, dorks.
